About the Role
As a Teacher at Aurora Cedars, you will deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum tailored to meet the individual needs of every learner. You will create an inclusive, engaging classroom environment that promotes high expectations, independence, and achievement for all students.
What You'll Be Doing
📚 Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons for a wide range of abilities and communication needs
- Differentiate learning to ensure all students can access the curriculum
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and attainment, implementing strategies to support improvement
- Incorporate behaviour strategies into lesson planning to ensure a positive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with therapy teams to support holistic student development
🌱 Supporting Students & School Development
- Create a person-centred learning environment empowering students to take ownership of their learning
- Promote equality, inclusion, and high expectations
- Support students' personal, social, emotional, and cultural development
- Contribute to the wider school vision, ethos, and continuous improvement initiatives
🤝 Leadership & Collaboration
- Work closely with parents, carers, and professionals to support student outcomes
- Lead and support Teaching Assistants and support staff in the classroom
- Contribute to staff development, sharing best practice and mentoring colleagues
- Participate in review meetings and multidisciplinary discussions
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- A qualified teacher (PGCE, QTS or equivalent)
- Experienced or interested in working within a SEN or specialist setting
- Skilled at adapting teaching and communication to meet diverse needs
- Confident in managing behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives
