About Us:

 

At our Aurora Boveridge College, we support young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who have additional social, emotional, autism and mental health needs.

 

we're looking for a dedicated Shift Manager (Days) to support our Care Manager and Head of Care in leading a committed team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them build confidence, independence and life skills.

 

What you'll be doing

 

As Shift Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring our young people receive the highest standards of care and support. You'll lead by example, motivate your team and help create a safe, happy and nurturing environment where every young person can reach their potential.

 

You'll:

  • Support the day-to-day leadership and management of the care team
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff to deliver outstanding care
  • Monitor quality, compliance and safeguarding standards
  • Lead on supervisions, appraisals and team development
  • Support care planning and ensure person-centred approaches are at the heart of everything we do
  • Help manage staffing, rotas, absence and resource allocation
  • Build positive relationships with young people, families and professionals
  • Promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for our young people

 

Shift Pattern

 

This is a full-time position working:

  • Monday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Tuesday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Wednesday: 10:30am – 7:00pm
  • Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm

 

You'll also work one weekend day per month (8:00am – 4:30pm), which will replace your Monday shift that week.

 

What we're looking for

 

We're looking for someone who is calm, resilient and passionate about supporting young people. You'll be a positive role model who can motivate others and maintain high standards, even in challenging situations.

 

You'll ideally have:

  • A Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent) in Children or Adult Care
  • Experience working with young people with learning disabilities and/or additional needs
  • Previous experience of supervising, mentoring or leading a team
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, care planning and regulatory requirements
  • A positive approach to behaviour support and person-centred care
  • Due to our rural location access to transport and a drivers licence is essential
  • Given the age of our students all applicants must be 21 and over
