Creative Arts Lead Group Tutor

Make a lasting difference through creativity

Close date: Wednesday 14th October

Are you an inspiring Creative Arts practitioner who believes that every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed?

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Creative Arts Lead Group Tutor to join our team at R.E.A.L. Alternative Provision. This is an exciting opportunity to use your creative expertise to engage learners, build their confidence and help them make meaningful educational and personal progress.

Alongside delivering high-quality, individualised Creative Arts sessions, you will support the Creative Provision Manager with the day-to-day running of the provision and provide line management and guidance to Group Tutors.  The provision includes music, art, drama and dance.

The role

You will plan, prepare and deliver inspiring Creative Arts sessions that are tailored to learners' individual needs, ensuring they are appropriately supported, challenged and motivated.

You will create a positive and engaging learning environment where young people can express themselves, develop new skills and recognise their own potential. You will also help maintain consistently high standards across the provision by supporting colleagues, overseeing the quality of delivery and contributing to continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, resourcing and delivering highly individualised Creative Arts sessions.
  • Assessing learner progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.
  • Creating engaging learning activities that support positive educational and personal outcomes.
  • Supporting learners sensitively and effectively throughout their learning journey.
  • Providing line management to AP Tutors, including regular one-to-ones, appraisals, absence management and individual development.
  • Helping to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across the wider team.
  • Contributing to schemes of work, course development and quality assurance processes.
  • Maintaining accurate and professional records relating to learner progress, incidents and safeguarding concerns.
  • Completing and recording appropriate risk assessments to support the safety and wellbeing of learners and colleagues.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Alternative Provision team and wider Aurora Group.

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone who can combine creativity with compassion, structure and strong professional standards.

You will need:

  • A minimum of Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths.
  • A relevant Level 4 qualification in a related subject area.
  • Current or recent experience of delivering English and Maths within an educational setting.
  • Experience of working with children and young people and delivering subjects related to Creative Arts.
  • Experience of adapting teaching and support to meet individual learners' needs.
  • Experience of planning and delivering engaging learning activities.
  • Strong organisational, time-management and record-keeping skills.
  • Competent IT skills and the confidence to use technology to support teaching, learning and administration.

It would be advantageous if you also have:

  • Practical knowledge or experience within a relevant creative industry, such as music, visual arts or performing arts.
  • Experience of managing or leading a small team.
  • Previous experience within alternative provision, SEND or another specialist educational setting.

About you

You will be enthusiastic, creative and motivated by the opportunity to help young people overcome barriers to learning.

You will understand that progress looks different for every learner and will be able to adapt your approach accordingly. You will bring patience, consistency and positivity to the role, while maintaining high expectations and encouraging every learner to achieve their best.

As a supportive team leader, you will be approachable and organised, with the confidence to guide colleagues and promote consistently high standards across the provision.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to take on a varied and rewarding role where your creativity, leadership and ability to build trusting relationships can make a meaningful difference.

If you are excited by the opportunity to combine your passion for Creative Arts with the chance to support young people to grow, develop and achieve, we would love to hear from you.
