Aurora Cedars School in Wolverhampton will offer a bespoke education provision for up to 80 pupils aged 5-19 who have ASC/SEMH needs. The curriculum is creative and personalised for the pupils to ensure that we provide them with the best opportunities to succeed.
The Headteacher is looking for fun, passionate, dedicated, and driven staff to help support her vision for the pupils and the school environment. We are currently looking for a Forest School Teacher to join our school.
The role / Key duties:
- To provide leadership of Forest School and subject management to secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils.
- To develop whole school approach and opportunities to Forest School
- Set expectations and targets for pupils in relation to standards of pupil achievements and the quality of teaching.
- Work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Monitor, assess, review and report on the progress and work of pupils
- Use data effectively to identify pupils who are underachieving and where necessary create and implement effective plans of action to support those pupils.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
- Forest School Qualification and relevant First Aid qualification
- Experience of teaching pupils with SEND and working from EHCP documents
- Thorough working knowledge of the curriculum and how to adapt this for pupils with SEND
- Ability to create and maintain strong nurturing relationships with young people
- Experience of managing a range of approaches to learning, to include the students with anxiety and SEND
