Are you passionate about making a real difference in children's lives? Do you want to be part of a supportive, inclusive school where every child is encouraged to thrive?

We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Woodlands School, where you'll play a vital role in helping pupils reach their full potential in a safe, nurturing environment.

💡 About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and the wider team to support pupils both in their learning and personal development. This is a rewarding, varied role where no two days are the same - perfect for someone who is patient, proactive, and committed to putting children first.

You'll support pupils with a range of needs, helping them build confidence, independence and positive relationships, while ensuring their wellbeing is always at the heart of everything you do.

✨ What You'll Be Doing

🧡 Supporting Pupils

  • Build positive, trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe and engaged
  • Support behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social development
  • Assist with personal care when required, including hygiene and mealtime support
  • Promote independence, inclusion, and high expectations for all learners

📚 Supporting Learning

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging, tailored learning activities
  • Reinforce key concepts and provide additional explanation where needed
  • Prepare learning resources and adapt activities to suit individual needs

📈 Monitoring Progress

  • Provide feedback on pupil behaviour, progress, and engagement
  • Help track learning and contribute to assessment records
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals

🤝 Being Part of the Team

  • Work closely with colleagues to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum
  • Take part in training, development, and school activities
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive school community

🧠 What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who:

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children, particularly those with SEND
  • Is patient, resilient, and adaptable
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Has good communication, literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
  • Is creative, positive and solution-focused in meeting pupils' needs

Experience in an educational or care setting is desirable, but not essential - we value attitude and commitment just as much as experience.

✅ Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

🌈 Why Join Us?

At The Aurora Group, we are committed to creating an environment where both pupils and staff can flourish. You'll benefit from:

  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Opportunities to grow your career
  • The chance to make a genuine, lasting impact every day
