Aurora Hanley School is proud to be rated Outstanding by Ofsted. We provide innovative education and care for young people aged 6–19 with complex needs, including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and associated conditions.

We're currently looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team, you will assist in maintaining the site by ensuring that all the buildings and grounds are kept in good order as directed by the School Business Manager and the group Facilities and Estates Team.

There is an emphasis on Health & Safety relevant to the premises ensuring that the building and grounds are continually fit for purpose for pupils and staff to enable them to fulfil their roles.

Key Accountabilities:

• All required checks are recorded appropriately and that the company health & safety policies are adhered to.
• Ensuring work to the building is carried out effectively to a high standard and in line with all industry regulatory requirements.

What you will do:

• Hold responsibility for site opening and associated security procedures
• Provision of maintenance and site cover during periods of annual leave
• Management and administration of the CAFM (Computer-Aided Facilities Management) system
• Monitoring, coordinating and overseeing CAFM maintenance activities across a remote site
• Ensure all preventative maintenance and servicing is carried out to a high standard and recorded appropriately.
• Carry out routine Health and Safety tasks including weekly fire alarm checks, legionella management and all other compliance requirements. All required checks must be recorded appropriately on the Safety Culture system and be available for inspection.

What We're Looking For:

• Enthusiastic and pro-active, keen to be involved. General maintenance knowledge preferably with a qualification in electrics / plumbing / joinery. Alternatively, a construction trade.
• Experience working within an educational setting is desirable, although not essential.
• Computer literacy skills essential due to the utilisation of the internal CAFM system.
• Knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations.
• Understanding of hot & cold-water systems
• Knowledge of good working trade practices.
• Must have a full UK driving licence
