Are you an organised, proactive and personable administrator looking to make a real difference in a specialist school environment? Aurora Brooklands School is seeking a dedicated School Administrator to join our friendly and supportive team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to play a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of the school, providing essential support across administration, finance, reception, attendance, and pupil services.

About the Role

As School Administrator, you will be at the heart of our school operations, supporting a busy and varied business support function. No two days are the same as you provide excellent administrative support to staff, pupils, families and external professionals while helping to ensure our school runs efficiently and effectively.

Working closely with the School Business Manager and wider leadership team, you'll be responsible for a broad range of duties including finance administration, reception services, pupil records, attendance monitoring, HR support and general office administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing administrative support for finance processes, including orders, invoices and payments.
  • Delivering a professional and welcoming reception service for visitors, parents and stakeholders.
  • Managing telephone enquiries and responding to queries promptly and efficiently.
  • Supporting pupil administration, admissions, attendance and record management.
  • Maintaining accurate records on the school's Information Management System (Engage).
  • Assisting with HR administration and general office support.
  • Supporting examination administration activities.
  • Monitoring attendance and following up unexplained absences in line with school procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with information governance, safeguarding and school policies.
  • Supporting meetings and undertaking other administrative duties as required.

About You

We're looking for someone who is highly organised, adaptable and enjoys working as part of a team. You will be confident managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in an administrative role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and handling confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a busy environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within a school or educational setting.
  • Experience using Information Management Systems.
  • Experience with financial systems such as Unit4 (Agresso).
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above), or equivalent.
